Before entering the GMM study I had a background as toolmaker and a HTX exam. I chose the GMM study because I found it very appealing that I as a student would be in close contact to the business world along the education. Another important factor was that through the education I would get a broad knowledge within many different areas instead of being a specialist, which was in agreement with the type of job I was dreaming to fulfil.

When I am looking back on the educational course I have a positive feeling of what I have achieved and I feel well equipped for entering a real job function. The main reason is the mentor arrangement where I have been connected to LEGO Group. When you are working on the projects in the mentor company you are learning something which can not be learned at the school desk. You are getting a sniff of the real world and experiencing how the daily life as engineer is. Also I have experienced it as very giving to use the theory from school in reality, which gives a much better understanding of this theory. The downside of using half of each semester in the mentor company is that the theory lessons are being rather compressed and sometimes I have felled that it has been a bit superficial. Further more my experience of the mentor arrangement is that it is a unique possibility to create a network which can be used in relation to job seeking.

I got my job through this network, and will be working at LEGO Group as engineer. I will be connected to a project group where the task is to transform form parts of the production in order to optimize output level. My role will be to solve/coordinate sub tasks in corporation with specialists.
